About the titans
The Titans were a race of human-eating humanoids, who played a fundamental role in the development of the events of the series. These creatures are actually human beings belonging to a race known as the Ymir People who have generally been transformed through the injection of a serum into the bloodstream.
The Titans appeared approximately 2000 years ago, after Ymir Fritz was the first person to obtain the power of the Titans. For 107 years, the people who inhabit the walls on Paradis Island believed that all of humanity succumbed to the Titans.
Following the death of Eren Jaeger in 854 and Ymir's resignation from his power, the remaining Titans reverted to their human forms, officially leaving this species extinct.
APPARENCE
Titans closely resemble humans in that they are bipedal creatures, with the same number and arrangement of limbs and functions that one would expect from humans. From the human point of view, most have deformed dimensions to a greater or lesser degree, ranging from slight abnormalities in proportions, to disproportion in the size of the head and even arched or bent limbs.
They appear to lack human skin and subcutaneous tissues. The vast majority of Titans have a masculine appearance but their gender is neutral, since they lack reproductive organs, so it can be said that there is no sexual dimorphism between them or that they are simply asexual.
Almost all Titans have a huge mouth with a large number of teeth. They appear to lack canines, though possibly not incisors, and use them in their main human eating activity.
CHARACTERISTICS
The Titans don't have demonstrable intelligence and act instinctively, being forced to seek out and devour human beings for reasons that are unknown, since they do not obtain any real sustenance from them, since several Titans have not eaten human flesh for a short time. of a century after the walls were built, however, this does not affect their activity or numbers. It should also be noted that once a Titan has filled its stomach with dead humans, it regurgitates them and continues to eat as many more as possible.
It should be noted, as mentioned above, that Titans eat humans for no apparent purpose other than to kill them. They ignore other animals and life forms (although they sometimes kill horses in their attempts to get their riders), and apparently they do not have a complete digestive system or it does not work, it can simply be observed that they have a cavity stomach that over time fills up with what they swallow, forcing them to regurgitate in time to continue eating. So, instead of being predators, they are more like "annihilators".
The Titans body structure and power source are very mysterious and apparently violate several known laws of science. Their high activity level and body temperature indicate the need for massive energy consumption to feed themselves, yet they apparently never need to eat at all. They appear to be less active at night or if they are deprived of sunlight, so it may be possible that they get their main source of energy from the sun. Titans appear to possess different levels of stamina.
These beings have tough skin and have the ability to regenerate, and can only be killed by a deep incision in the back of the neck, where the spinal cord of the human being that has been previously transformed is found. This weakness led to the creation of three-dimensional maneuvering teams, allowing humans to move quickly in a three-dimensional space to easily access the weak point of the Titans, thus being able to kill them, without directly risking their lives. Titans have a high body temperature, as a result, their bodies emit a lot of steam when they regenerate, decompose, or when they are under very intense exertion.
CREATION OF TITANS
All the Titans in the past were human beings belonging to a race known to the rest of the world as the People of Ymir or simply as Eldians, after being injected with a serum made of titan spinal fluid, these subjects suffer a reaction in which , almost instantaneously, they turn into titans.
Those monsters maintain almost the same characteristics that they had when they were humans, although in the case of women, they only retain their facial features.
